“This sound off is in response to Michael Ebert’s letter to the editor that was published in the EagleHerald Nov. 12.

“Possibly the writer misunderstood the previous sound offs that were in support of the non-intoxicating use of cannabis. Using cannabis in raw form for juicing and smoothies is not intoxicating when done properly and has greater health and medicinal benefits when consumed this way according to Dr. William Courtney and other cannabis as medicine experts. The high CBD, low THC strains of cannabis are also not intoxicating.

“The Bible clearly supports the ‘merciful’ use of cannabis as medicine because it’s much less harmful than the opioids, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, antidepressants and amphetamines prescribed by doctors which are gateways to more dangerous illegal drugs of a very similar chemical makeup. Matthew 9:13; 12:7; 23:23; Proverbs 31:4-9. Cannabis is also much less harmful than alcohol which scientists have discovered is the most harmful of all the drugs.

“The writer complains about the effects of cannabis on the human brain but fails to realize that all intoxicating drugs produce these effects to an even greater degree than cannabis. Even refined sugar negatively effects mental performance and causes addiction. Over time with continued and excessive use, refined sugar leads to metabolic syndrome, diabetes, obesity, heart disease and even cancer. See CBS 60 Minutes ‘Is sugar toxic?’ on YouTube.

“I would warn Jeremy Kuehnau to beware of the establishment churches. They’re religious cults that teach and practice a counterfeit Christianity Jesus warned against. Matthew 24:5, 23-24.”
