OCONTO FALLS — The body of a Oconto Falls man who went missing was found in the Oconto River, according Oconto Falls Police Chief Brad Olsen.
The department received a report of a missing persons complaint at 7:41 a.m. Thursday, according to Olsen. The missing person was Jason Samsa, 34, and the report came from his fiancee, who told authorities he did not return home from work and she was concerned for his welfare.
Witness reports indicated Samsa was last seen in the area of ST Paper in the woods walking toward the Oconto River, according to Olsen. The Oconto Falls Police Department and assisting agencies conducted a search along the Oconto River from the point of Samsa's last known location. At 1:52 p.m. Thursday, responding units located Samsa deceased in the water, according to a press release. This incident in still under investigation and additional details of the incident are not being released at this time.
