MARINETTE — The City of Marinette Façade Improvement Program (FIP) is offering grants up to $10,000 for qualifying façade improvements for businesses in the downtown area. The goal of the FIP is to encourage improvements that stress the historic significance and uniqueness of downtown structures through building restoration. Added into the downtown area is the retail/commercial areas near Menekaunee Harbor that include businesses along Ogden and Hosmer streets. For a total qualifying project dollar amount of $20,000, the matching grant process will review reimbursement for projects matching the maximum grant award up to $10,000.

People may go online to receive an application, brochure and map at the city website, www.marinette.wi.us and click Mayor’s Department and the Façade Improvement Program. Paper applications may be obtained from Jan Kust, 715-732-5139, at the Community Development Office, City Hall, 1905 Hall Ave., second floor. The deadline for submitting an application is Sept. 1.

Completion date for an approved project is no later than Dec. 31, 2021.
