MADISON, Wis.—We Energies and Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) have restored power to more than 170,000 customers following last Wednesday’s damaging storms. More than 900 people, including workers from across the Midwest, continue to work to repair extensive damage, including rebuilding circuits and replacing snapped utility poles.
WPS now expected service will be restored to 95% of customers by Wednesday night, with service restored to all customers Saturday evening. We Energies continues to encounter substantial damage in the Fox Valley, and expects to restore service to all customers by Sunday afternoon.
Crews and support staff from both companies will continue to work around the clock until power is restored to all affected customers. We sincerely appreciate the patience and kind words our customers have given us as we work as safely and quickly as possible., WE Energies said in a press release.
