Man sentenced for DWI injury

MARINETTE—A 34-year-old Marinette man will serve time in prison for injuring someone while driving drunk.

Jacob S. Carviou, 1808 Lewis St., was sentenced in Marinette County Circuit Court Branch 1 to three years in prison, followed by three years extended supervision, for driving while intoxicated—two plus charges—causing injury.

Carviou also must pay $8,526.58 in restitution.

Three other charges were dismissed, but read in for sentencing purposes. They are: Injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle and reckless driving cause great bodily harm, both felonies, and driving with a revoked license cause great bodily harm, a misdemeanor.

The offense happened on July 1, 2020, and Carviou entered a no conrtest plea on Nov. 4, 2020.
