In Monday’s edition of the EagleHerald, a paragraph in a story stated that Doug Oitzinger dropped most of the claims from the first closed meeting. We were contacted by Thomas C. Kamenick, Oitzinger’s attorney, on Monday, and he told the EagleHerald that the lawsuit is proceeding on claims for both the Oct. 6 and Oct. 7 meeting from 2020, making our original paragraph incorrect.

He went on to say that, “as part of his settlement offer, Mr. Oitzinger was primarily seeking relief related to the Oct. 7 meeting (releasing the report and holding an open meeting to discuss it), which would have resolved the entire lawsuit. But as the city rejected that offer, he will be seeking declarations from the court that the city violated the Open Meetings Law at both meetings.”
