MARINETTE — Two men were arrested earlier this week after a high-speed pursuit by Marinette County Sheriff deputies.

Tyler J. Dollar, 22, Portage, Wisconsin, and Chandler L. Pavlet, 26, Iron Mountain, were arrested after Monday’s incident. Dollar was the driver.

According to Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office put out information to be on the lookout for a stolen black pickup that had fled authorities in Dickinson County, Michigan, and Florence County.

At about 11 a.m. Monday, a Marinette County deputy spotted the vehicle in the Town of Beecher. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle south of Wausaukee on U.S. 141 and the vehicle fled southbound at a high rate of speed.

Two attempts with tire deflation devices were unsuccessful, according to Sauve. The pursuit continued southbound into the Town of Beaver where the fleeing vehicle went southbound in the northbound lanes, went off the road, turned around and continued northbound.

The pursuit continued back to the Town of Middle Inlet area, south of Wausaukee, where a third deployment of a tire deflation device was successful, according to the sheriff. The vehicle stopped and both suspects were arrested without incident and turned over to Florence County officers.

There were no injuries to the suspects or to the officers and no squad cars were damaged, Sauve said.

Dollar is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Florence County court on Aug. 4 to face a multitude of charges, including felony charges of driver fleeing and eluding an officer, two counts of burglary to a building or dwelling and theft of movable property greater than $5,000 to $10,000.

Pavlet has not yet appeared on the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access website.
