LENA—Coleman’s Karson Casper and Alex Rennie captured two of the top-three spots to help the Cougars’ boys cross country team win the Lena Invitational on Tuesday.

Casper (18:58) finished second overall while Rennie was close behind (19:14) in third place, helping Coleman finish first as a team with a combined score of 33.

Crivitz (52) finished second behind a strong showing from Sam Lieuwen, who finished first overall individually with a time of 18:30. Goodman/Pembine’s Kody Stahley was fourth with a time of 19:57 while Ben Brown of Crivitz rounded out the top-five after running a 20:10.

Lena/Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy (64) finished third, edging fourth-place Goodman/Pembine (66) by four points.

Max Beyer paced Lena/STAA with a time of 21:01, good for 10th overall. Teammates Reed Hosking (21:05) and Mason Belongia (21:10) were close behind in 11th and 12th, respectively.

Oconto’s Braden Shallow had the top finish for the Blue Devil boys, coming in 21st overall with a time of 23:00.

Wausaukee’s Casey Nutt paced the Rangers with a time of 23:10.

On the girls side, Suring finished first as a team with a score of 31. Coleman took second with a 48, Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran (65) was third and Lena/STAA (68) was fourth.

Suring’s Olivia Noack claimed the top individual finish after crossing the finish line in 21:51. Coleman’s Desiree Nowak (23:04) was second while fellow Cougar Kiersten Jensen (23:08) was third. Isabella Galindo of Crivitz was fourth with a time of 23:47 and Suring’s Georgia Gerndt (24:00) was fifth.

Oconto’s Betsy Finger was eighth overall with a time of 25:00.

Della Kostreva led the way for Lena/STAA with a time of 25:48, placing her 10th overall.
