LITTLE CHUTE—Marinette’s varsity softball team played a doubleheader against Little Chute Friday night, winning both the first game 10-0 and proved it wasn’t a fluke by winning the second game 10-0 as well.
Sydney Nemetz pitched the first five innings of the first game, finishing with 14 k’s and surrendered only one hit in game Marinette coach Scott MacIntyre said “Was mostly dominated by our pitching.”
The Marines day at the plate in the first game was highlighted by Bailie Thielen going three-for-three with an RBI. Alli Kacalo went two for three with an RBI with Cienna Grawey going two for three with four RBIs.
Bailie Thielen pitched the second game striking out nine batters and allowed only one hit over five innings of work on the mound. However, Macintyre said “that game was highlighted by Lexi Kacalo going two for three, Jordan Boettcher going one for two and Syndey Nemetz going one for one along with forcing two walks.”
Coach MacIntyre also said “the second game was more or less dominated by pitching again. All in all it’s a great night for softball, beautiful weather and just a great night for softball.”
