MARINETTE — The M&M Stingray swim team was in three difference places at once over the weekend, with six swimmers taking part in various State Championship meets.
While the Stingrays were unable to bring home any gold, the team still put on strong showings in all three meets.
Adrianna Getzloff (16) competed in the Wisconsin Senior (Age-15 and older) meet at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wis., taking part in four events.
Getzloff’s best finish came in the 50 backstroke, where she placed 24th overall after recording a time of 27.80 seconds.
Sadie Betzinger (13), Julika Mercer (12) and Tylee Buscher (14) represented the Stingrays at the Wisconsin Age 11-14 Meet on the Rex Plex Aquatic Center in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
Betzinger was 12th overall in the 200 fly with a time of 2:23.34 and in the 50 backstroke after swimming a 28.68. She also finished 13th overall in the 200 fly (2:22.47).
Mercer nabbed a top-25 finish in the 50 breaststroke (36.07) while Buscher’s best finish was 60th overall in the 200 backstroke (2:30.12).
Rounding out the weekend for the Stingrays was Elizabeth (7) and Daniel Possi (10) at the Wisconsin Age 10-and under Meet at Ashwaubenon High School.
Daniel scored two top-25 finishes, recording a time of 1:36.85 in the 100 breast to finish 19th overall before swimming the 50 breast in 45.37, good for 24th overall.
Elizabeth brought home 19th overall in the 50 backstroke with a time of 46.63 seconds.
Stingrays coach Lenny Sipple said he was very happy with how his swimmers performed and that each Stingray exceeded his expectations given that his charges were competing in very large meets with swimmers numbering the 100s.
