ISHPEMING—The Menominee girls basketball closed out its second-consecutive undefeated season on Thursday night with a 65-41 rout of Ishpeming.

The Maroons stormed out to a 41-19 halftime advantage and never let up, allowing just 22 points in the second half as seniors Emma Anderson, Erin Barrette, Josie Hofer, Makenzie Wellner and Jenna Nolde finished their regular season high school careers with a win.

Anderson led the charge for Menominee with 19 points and six rebounds; Erin Barrette added 12 points, four rebounds three assists and two steals and Anna Nerat just missed out on double-figures with nine points and five rebounds.

As a team, Menominee shot 25-of-53 (47 percent) from the field and 8-18 (44 percent) from 3-point range.

The Maroons will now travel to either Manistique or Gwinn on Wednesday for a district semifinal matchup after receiving a first-round bye as the 1-seed.
