Wildcats tame Tigers

LENA—Despite dropping the opening game of Tuesday’s Marinette and Oconto Conference game to Gillett, the Lena volleyball team was able to rip off three straight wins to pick up a 4-1 victory.

The Tigers got the best of the Eagles in the opening game, winning 25-13, but the Wildcats grouped to win the next two games by a score of 25-15. Lena edged Gillett 25-16 in the fourth game to seal the victory.

Makynna Herald notched 20 assists and an ace, while Mel Cops added 12 kills and an assist. Aspen Magee had the lone dig for the Wildcats.

Gillett did not report any stats.

Lena was in Suring on Thursday, with results unavailable at press time. The Wildcats are back in action Thursday as they return to Suring for an M&O Conference triangular at 4:30 p.m.

The Tigers hosted Wausaukee on Thursday with results unavailable at press time. Gillett returns to the court Tuesday with a home game against Green Bay West at 7 p.m.
